Welcome to Our Support Groups

Tri-County Council on Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault, Inc. offers closed, weekly domestic violence and family violence and sexual assault support groups for the community. All clients must meet with an advocate to assure group readiness and appropriateness, discuss any potential barriers, safety concerns, guidelines, and topics covered. Due to safety concerns, the meeting location and time will be disclosed after intake. Clients are able to be still in their relationship, recently out of it, or trying to heal from a past relationship.

Types of Support Groups

Domestic Violence Support Group (Oneida County)

This groups objective is to promote education while supporting and validating one another to work towards personal empowerment and healing. Within this group, we work through topics such as understanding tactics of abuse, understanding the wheels, the cycle of abuse, perpetrator profiles, victim mentalities, barriers to leaving, safety planning (and danger assessments), effects on children, adverse childhood experiences, resiliency, cognitive distortions, unlearning shame, tips to healing and healthy relationships. The goal is to process and broach experiences as a group, as we work towards reframing and recalibrating personal trauma or experiences.

This group is open to participants 18 and older; all genders are welcome.

Sexual Assault Support Group (Oneida County)

Our second support group is tailored to the specific needs of survivors of sexual assault, providing a supportive community and coping strategies to aid in the healing process.
